HERITAGE

The jewelry heritage of the Bachoura-Garabet family began in 1884, when George Bachoura opened a fine jewelry store in Mardin, Syria. Despite the tragic loss of George and his brothers during the genocide, his wife Magda fled to Aleppo with their children, continuing the legacy. George's sons, including Youssef Bachoura, sustained the family tradition in Damascus. Youssef's daughter Margot later married Leon Garabet, a skilled jeweler working for Tabbah in Lebanon. The couple eventually moved to the United States, opening a jewelry store in Brooklyn in 1974 and later relocating to Los Angeles as Golden State Jewelry. Their son Anis Garabet continued the family tradition, expanding into Golden Pacific Jewelry. Anis' daughter, Margaret Marie “Mimi” Stone, represents the fifth generation of jewelers, launching her high jewelry brand and carrying forward the family's enduring legacy.
